This weekend saw the climax of the CIMA Global Business Challenge 2011 as the finals took place over two days in Chengdu, China with teams from 17 regions worldwide competing to be named champions in this showcase of aspiring business talent. In turn, CIMA provided realtime coverage of the event using social media with staff co-ordinating via web and mobile in China and London.

Held in partnership with Barclays and centring on a business case developed by each team of students and presented to a panel of judges, standards and confidence levels were high across the board, as each team was already the winner of the regional finals held a few weeks previously in their assorted home countries.

This year, for the second year running, each team was also tasked with making a short video that introduced their team and outlined what CIMA is, the benefits of the CIMA qualification and potential career opportunities for CIMA qualified people. This was then put to the public vote online.

Rather than telling you what happened and who won what, you can catch the highlights of the event by replaying the live blog below. It brought together Twitter, video, photos and text updates to bring a more rounded view of what was happening across the weekend. We also had a hashtag #cimagbc which helped us monitor and include responses from others on Twitter to the live stream.

You can also see the team videos archived in our YouTube channel and currently on our GBC Facebook page. Follow @CIMA_News and @CIMAsphere on Twitter for updates and the option of giving us feedback that way.
