Aubrey Joachim on the CIMA competitive advantage

Rob Fenwick's picture

CIMA’s President, Aubrey Joachim, acts as an international ambassador for the Institute. In addition to promoting the CIMA’s distinctive globally-recognised qualification he meets members, students and those working with CIMA in many countries.

As you may have seen from Aubrey's blog, he is keen to use the web to connect with people who are unable to attend a CIMA event. Recently, Aubrey recorded a speech to CIMA’s Edinburgh branch and over the course of thirty minutes he covered three major areas:

Global financial challenges, the competitive advantage of chartered management accountants, and CIMA’s distinctive offer to students

CIMA’s thought leadership research and the changing face of business decision making

CIMA’s global reach

We would like to hear your thoughts on the speech, and CIMA’s use of YouTube and other forms of online video. CIMA has already hosted a number of audio and video webcasts, is this something you would like to see us do more often?

CIMA in the 21st Century...

Hi Rob,

Thanks for this... YouTube is fine as far as it goes, but we need to take things much further though. We're now in the age of technology-based 'Social Media' tools which more and more people are using for everyday communication. CIMA needs to not just adopt this trend but show its members and students how best to utilise these tools for personal, business and CIMA benefit... We have a number of staff and members on social networking sites such as Ecademy, Linked-In, Xing, Facebook, Twitter, etc but need to clarify CIMA's own strategy towards these opportunities. I'd be interested in discussing with you at some stage soon...
