With the November 2011 behind us, you may be considering if you should sit for the T4 Part B exam in either late Feb or late May 2012.  Well, the preseen case for these exams has been released today and you can download it here.

Usually, I would recommend students to sit T4 Part B exam as soon as they have passed their strategic level papers. There is no new knowledge to learn for this paper but you are required to bring together all you have learnt so far and demonstrate your ability as a management accountant. It is better to do it while the knowledge is still fresh.

Another question that I have been asked a lot is whether it is better to sit a PC based exam or a paper based one. Personally I favour the PC based because I am always quicker to type than to write.  I also found that doing calculation in Excel a lot faster.  However if you are not familar with using MS Word and Excel, doing PC based exam may put you at disadvantage. The PC based exam is also more expensive as there is an extra administrative fee to the exam centre.

For those who would like to sit exam in late Feb, make sure you register with your exam centre or local CIMA office by 20 Jan 2012.  If this is your first attemp, I recommend you have a look at this examiner's article on the best way to prepare. If you are resitting, you may find Mark Dallman's study tips useful.

Good luck and all the best!  This is your final hurdle!
