Wondering why we still need an International Women's Day?

If you've forgotten why we still need an International Women's Day, please read this article by Mariella Frostrup, a TV presenter and Observer newspaper columnist. Some reminders are:

  • *Two-thirds of children denied school are girls
  • *64% of the world's illiterate adults are women
  • *41m girls are still denied a primary education
  • *75% of civilians killed in war are women and children
  • *And closer to home, only 12% of the UK's boardroom seats (as compared to Norway's 34%) are occupied by women. UK's percetage of women on Boards is lower than South Africa's, Israel's, Philippines'...to name just a few countries.

Just a few reasons why women's equality should remain a high priority, even in the UK.

So on this day, can I ask you all to promote the value of women in society and in the workplace [ie having at least 30% women on Boards or in senior management leads to significant financial outperformance when compared to organisations with few women in leadership]. The complementary skills that women bring help create a more balanced world and more profitable companies.

Happy International Women's day everyone!

Recognition for all level of society contribution is always good

It is a good move to recognise women's day whereby they are responsible and care for their well-being and their employer's well-being and also their spouse and children when married.

Versatile and lots of hardwork.

Congratulation to all ladies who had juggle successfully between work and family duties.

Best of luck to all responsible and hardworking women across the globe.
