Hi Hareesha thanks for the advice if i want to pursue career in finance as well as in a/c then what suits me the best? And are you doing CIMA and which level you are in? is it worth doing CIMA n make career in India after completing CIMA?
Regards
Vineet Sheth
Hi Vineet,
CIMA is a qualification for people interested in Finance with specialization in Management Accounting. With CIMA in Banking you can work as Business Analyst,Financial Analyst,MIS Executive which tend to need more Management Accounting skills. With CFA you will be equipped for roles in Treasury,Forex,Investments,Valuation.
Both are different qualification and each has its niche in Banking sector equally.
It is true that CIMA is not so known in India. However,A qualified CWA or CA normally does understand what CIMA is.Once you start doing CIMA you understand that it gives you more business and commercial skills than a CA/CWA.So,As far as Skills is concerned you will be much better off than any other qualification and Scope will follow the Skills.
Yes,It is true that in India CA rules. But,That is more on account of their number and monopolistic policies rather than their competence alone.Once you start doing CIMA you understand how different it is than a CA!!
