Hi All

I am 31 years old MBA graduate and new CIMA student member. I intend to sit the new CMGA accelerated route by for MBA offered by Cima.

I have 4 years experience in Projects management in Small Charity organization in London. I recently Moved to Ireland and want to change career but lack any accounting experience. I have been trying to get employment for the last 6 months in Dublin.

I have decided to enroll for a  "PITMAN TRAINING BOOKKEEPING" Course and seek an  entry level bookkeeping job then continue gaining experience and study.I don't see a problem taking Temping Jobs and my is intention to gain experience and put my leg into the accounting field.  I have seen a lot of Temporary Bookkeeping jobs.

Please help, I am I making a mistake using this kind strategy considering my age too?

Much regards

A. Noor

Dear Abdi,

I wouldn't worry too much about your age being a hinderence, try adding another ten years, then see what it's like!

Your strategy for getting into the accounting field seems a good idea, i'm in the west of ireland and all the advertised jobs seem to be in dublin!

The best of luck with your career, and welcome to Ireland!
