CIMA Member - finding jobs in Australia

Hi,

I have been a CIMA member for almost three years, with over six years of work experience.

I just migrated to Australia (Sydney), and find it quite hard to secure a job, let alone an interview with the agents, even with my credentials as a Management  Accountant and extensive SAP experience.

CIMA claims to be a  global qualification, equivalent to a degree. But the qualification or the relevant experience that is a criteria for the membership doesn't  seem to have counted for much so far, where the agents/organizations require 'local' experience.

I would like to know if other members have also gone through similar experience and how did they over came that issue?

Also, I would like to know if CIMA Australia has addressed these issues  and if there are any programs that assist CIMA members in securing jobs in Australia.

Hi Anchana,

As far as I know, CIMA Australia can just arrange networking for job hunting. I just became CIMA member through my self studying in Australia. I have more than 4 years local experiances. But unfortunately, never been management accountant and no SAP experiances like you.

Clearly, I have heaps of problem to secure management accountant job in Sydney.

I wish you the best of luck and wish me luck as well.

Hope to meet you on 9th of March CIMA CPD evet at Sydney.
