Speak to either HR or a quiet chat with your CFO and ask the question. They know you, they know what you can do, so 'with these credntials' they may well be interested in keeping you.

Hi
I'm 28, currently working in IT, I have a degree in economics and business and i want to move into accountancy to get CIMA qualified, i've got some great experience from my current job covering all sorts of different roles, but i have practically no experience with accountancy. Am i being unrealistic to think i can get a job at a place where my employer will pay for tuition/exams give study days and take me up the cima experience ladder. Should i be going for a pay cut and getting a basic accountancy job to get into the industry?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Also, on a side note i'd be happy to pay for professional career advice from an advisor that knew the industry but i can't find any, are they out there?

Hi Stuart,
You may register for CIMA evening tuition classes and work on part-time accounting work on weekend or work as temporary staff for outsourced firm bring the work home to do.
In times like this( turbulent ), it is not advisable to go for lower pay job.
No matter how good we are we may not pass the probation period if the company employed us run into financial difficulties( i.e last in first out, LIFO ).
Best of luck to you, Stuart.
