MyCIMA

Where does the future lie?

I am currently the financial controller for one of the most renowned shopping Centres in the country. this mainly involves low level accounting, looking after rents, service charge and car park money. There was no requirement to have accountancy qualifications, just high levels of numeracy, however (5years in now) I have just started studying the certificate level of CIMA off my own back.

I am highly motivated and want to be successful however I am slightly worried that I have now pigeon holed myself into this kind of role. I have opted for CIMA with the view that it will add a string to my bow. I am also earning more than the top4 firms graduate schemes - which I would have loved to do.

I would love to work for a big firm, but not knowing exactly what I want to do, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions that could lead me down a structured route?

I know this is very open but I am confused and thanks to all of you who will reply!
