MyCIMA

Would CIMA be relevant to credit risk specialist?

I currently work as a credit analyst in London (commodities industry) and really want to progress with my qualification and career. I would like to obtain deeper analytical/financial forecasting/modelling knowledge.I already have Masters degree, and cannot think of anything else to study than CIMA as being practical and useful qualification. I ruled out CFA as I am not keen working in an investment banking (need to keep family/work life in balance, I am a mum of 2). Also, with my current job and skils I could only possibly get a job only in London (with credit rating agencies, commodities trading houses, commercial banks headquarters), while CIMA, I believe, would make me more "portable" within UK. My job experience is not related with accounting at all, but CIMA is not all about accounting, isn't it?

I am on the right path of thinking here?

Check out FRM

I guess it is a late response. None the less, looking at your background I feel that FRM from GARP is right qualification for you rather than CIMA.
