CIMA in South Wales and SW England

Hi everyone. If you live or work in South Wales or the South West of England (Swindon to Penzance - or, of course, Penzance to Swindon) then do please come along to our first-ever Regional Planning Day on Saturday 5 February at Thornbury, Bristol, and share your views and ideas on how CIMA can help your work and study in 2011.

Last year we had a really positive Open Meeting. This year we want to go a step further, and find some fresh ways to strengthen employability and communication for CIMA people at every level of work or study. We have a new light-touch and locally-focussed committee structure to develop, and, as Chair of the Regional Board, I'm keen for us to build up the old Branch structure and find volunteers in each of our towns and cities who'll help to put on maybe just one event in their own locality. It's far easier to work in the big cities of our region, but Aberystwyth and Zelah are just as much a part of our community as Bristol and Plymouth.

So do please come along with your ideas, bouquets and brickbats. (But do please book - we want to be sure there's enough lunch to go round!)

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hi Adrian / all,

As the link in the post above will only work if you have a CIMAsphere account and are logged in, I thought (for the sake of providing convenience for those who aren't logged in / registered) that I'd provide the direct link to the booking page on the main CIMA website:

Regards,
Deirdre
(CIMAsphere community manager)

Thanks, Deidre!

CIMA in South Wales and SW England - Open Meeting

Adrian

It there an agenda for the day? Is it a whole day meeting or a day where people can drop in during the day?

Best regards

Victoria

Yes, sort-of, not really!

Hi Victoria,

The agenda's posted in the SW England and South Wales Regional Group under Regional Documents at http://community.cimaglobal.com/document/regional-planning-day-2011-sat-5-feb (link should work if you're logged-in, and I have to confess we're still learning the best way to post docs here).

We'll be there from 9.30, registration begins at 10.00, we'll start at 10.30, will be breaking for lunch just after noon and will finish at 3pm at the latest, quite possibly before.

But it's not really practicable for people to drop in and out during the day, because we're first discussing CIMA's strategy and intentions so we all know what we're aiming for, then taking the rest of the day to discuss and share ideas on how local volunteers can help get there.

Should be an interesting day, and CPD-loggable!
