Hi All,

 Having completed my CIMA Qualification just over a year ago. I have ended up moving out to Mongolia from the UK. This place is booming!

 If qualified CIMA accountants feel like an adventure where their skills are desperately needed, please let me know. There are many opportunities with a wide range of different companies from finance, Logistics to Mining.

Hey it was interesting to know so much abt booming country for sure, well I certainly wont mind settling in such rock party place with great opportunity. Well am myself ACCA affiliate and waiting for CIMA strategic results but with vast experience of External Audit in Deloitte. Lets see if it works out for me to join you over there..!

I am an Advance Diploma holder of CIMA and currently enrolled in the BA (Hons) program offered by Manchester Metropolitan University. However I do not have any experience yet.

Hi Thomas,

 We have two subsidiary companies in Mongolia, and the firm of accountants we use are not very good. Trying to find new accountants so far has been very difficult

Are you working in practice or for a company? Do you know of a reputable Accountancy firm?

Mongolian Accountants

Hi, 

 The situation with find work as an accountant in Mongolia is that if you are a Mongolian with a qualification like CIMA, ACCA, ACA you have a huge number of options open to you. Mongolians with a year's plus experience also have a range of options open to them.

 Expats must be qualified or they will find it very hard to find work out here.

Hi,

 We have just been asked to find a Capital Markets manager by one of the big four for a role here in Mongolia.

This is really exciting, some of the biggest IPOs around are going to be happening in Mongolia in the near future. This is a chance to be a crucial member of the team helping to ensure the success of the IPO. 

As you can see from the thread above I really believe in the opportunities in Mongolia, I moved my wife and I to be out here! It would be great to see more CIMA professionals in this market, CIMA skills are certainly needed as you can see from this role.

 Experience with financial modelling/business plans/valuations is essential. 

Experience carrying out financial due diligence would also be valued. 

The following characteristics would be ideal:

· Solid financial modelling/valuation/business plan experience

· Strong analytical skills 

· Good communication and report writing skills in English

· Commercial acumen 

· Good IFRS knowledge 

· Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to and be empathetic to local market conditions

· Proactive and a self starter

· Industry knowledge not essential however mining and/or financial services experience is beneficial
