CIMA jobs in Gauteng (Experience needed)

Hello.

I recently finished my B.Com Accounting at the University of Johannesburg. I am curently working towards the CIMA qualification.

I have recieved exemptions from C01 - C05 as well as F1 and will write the other two operational exams in May.

I am looking for work to gain the relevent experience and was wondering if any one had any advice or if you could point me in the right direction. All the CIMA jobs listed online require experience.

Please let me know if you know of any internships or training programmes that are accepting new candidates at the moment and how I should contact them.

Thanks a lot, will really appreciate it.

Experience

Hi Richardt

Toyota SA is a CIMA training partner and has a graduate training program. The program started yesterday (16 Jan), but I will still contact them and see what it is about.

The path is http://www.toyotacareers.co.za/graduateprogramme/.

Experience

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I have sent my CV through to them and hopefully I will have positive feedback.

Only new graduates?

I've just had a look at their entry requirements and they are looking for students in their final year of studies (or in new graduates)

I suppose someone with 4 years experience in Financial Services would find it hard to gain entry into this programme?  I graduated in 2004.

Experience

I just graduated my B.Com Accounting last year.

It's hard to find work if you have just graduated because 99% of the jobs require experience. If you already have 4 years of experience there are lots of companies that are looking to hire. Just look on www.pnet.co.za and if you type CIMA there are a lot of jobs that come up for companies that are looking for people on their way to the CIMA qualification but experience is listed as a minimum requirement.

Thanks, Richardt

Thank you very much Richardt for introducing me to that website.

It will certainly prove useful in my job-seeking prospects!

Pleasure

It's only a pleasure.

I personally prefer "PNET" but you can also try www.careerjunction.co.za.

I'm having a hard time finding a relevant job, need something in Finance or Cost Accounting that will lead to a management position, just need the experience so if you hear of anything, please let me know.
