Temporary Resignation

Please help me with this

If a student is qualified in CIMA and working, but temporarily resign from CIMA due to allowance or salary being not enough to pay a large subscription and other fincial difficulties(with the purpose of re-registering when ready for applying for the membership), won't he able to claim practical experience obtained during the period of resignation, for the membership application?

Secondly are there any issues like CIMA cannot be used in the CV if temporily resigned etc?

Thanks

If you resign as a cima member you do not need to submit practical experience again. you simply pay reregistration and other outstanding fees.

If you are a student then resigning will not affect your experience. It is seperate from your cima subscription. If you have 3 years experience then whether you are registered with cima is irrelevant.

Im not sure from your post but it sounds like you may mean that you have passed the exams but not submitted experience yet? Appologies if i have misunderstood

Re; see link

No this is the situation

I was qualified in May 2011, and started working, but unable to pay this amount of a subscription due to lack of salary. So if I resign temporiliy and re-register with CIMA in 3 years when I am ready to get the membership, wouldn't I be able to claim the experience I obtained during the period of resignation for the membership application?

no need

There is no need to gain experience again. You have already done it and it stays for life. You just have to pay a re-registration fee and the subscription fee when you join again. So you have no worries there.

re-no need

ok so wat u are saying is, say if i resign today andre-register in say 2015 when i am ready to get the membership, i can use the the experience i obtained during 2012-2015? no issues from cima because i was in the resignation.?

Qualification

Hi ndnk

You are saying that you are 'qualified in CIMA' - what do you mean by this? Completing the exams is not the same as being qualified, you must also complete the membership element of the qualification.

If you resign from CIMA you are not allowed to describe yourself as a CIMA student or use any letters you have been awarded from CIMA.

I suggest you email resignations@cimaglobal.com and they will be able to advise you based on the records we hold for you.
