CIMA for Old People

Hi,

so I have a BSc in Mgt Sciences, and 19 years experience in IT across many sectors, but primarily finance (retail and investment banking) and have spent the last three years in the financial risk arena as a project manager and/or business analyst.

How would CIMA qualifications help enhance my career. I'm interested partly becuase my degree gets me a few exemptions, but also because my work revolves around money and numbers along with regulatory reporting and compliance responsilities.

So any ideas?Would part-qualification be beneficial in itself alongside my existing  career experience?

Ta,

Chris

A thought?

Say it would take 3 years to pass all remaining papers after exemptions, would you still have say 20 - 25 years of possible working life. If yes, go for it and I wish you success                                                                                                                                                                                                               Best regards Cliff Moggs.......whilst I have retired, friends (similar age) haven't!

CIMA for Old People

Hi there Chris,

I have just registered as a student with CIMA last week, and at the moment CIMA are going through my results and degree qualification in Accounting and Finance to see what exemptions I get awarded.

But we must remember that exemptions are only one small factor to consider, the qualification itself requires dedication, time, and full efforts in order to pass the exams and move up the ladder.

Having a CIMA  qualification will open doors to a different career altogether and you will be earning a top salary and it is also internationally recognised, so if you want to start working in another country, that will put you in good stead.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Jay
