Dear Chartered Accountants of tomorrow,
We need to be armed with updated law, by-law, new techniques of process improvements and bilateral ties with business network.

Has anyone tried CIMAs web based courses? They seem to offer low cost and high flexibility - but the content looked a bit patchy when I saw a couple of course trailers last week. Anyone got any recommendations?

I have not tried CIMAs web based courses so can't comment on these. I have taken out a access all CPD subscription with SWAT. Although based in South West England they run courses in locations throughout the UK and also host increasing numbers of webinar based training. Written course material is sent through in advance of the webinars. Cost is £40 per month - useful if you plan on completing a lot of CPD. They were recommended also by one of the speakers at a recent CIMA members in practice workshop I attended in Bristol. If you are interested in the link to their website please let me know.

Check out some USA websites:-
1. The AICPA - www.cpa2biz.com
2. The Institute of Management Accountants - www.imanet,org
3. The CPE Store - www.cpestore.com (The USA still refer to CPD by its original name - see IFAC www.ifac.org and download IES 7 CPD Standard)
