When do TOPCIMA results get published in the Financial Times

Does anyone know when those who passed TOPCIMA in Sept 2009 will appear in the Financial Times?

Thanks

hi, at some stage in Feb I think

FT

any update on that?

FT

I'm interested in this also, if anyone knows the answer...

FT

I am also trying to find out when it will be published for the November 09 paper based exam

FT

Sept and Nov 09 will both be published at the same time as far as I know.  Any mods able to find out when this is going to happen?  Thanks

FT

Hi All

It appears there is unlikely to be an FT listing this year.

There will be 3 microsites for people who have successfully completed the Certificate, Advanced Diploma and a Passed Finalists(last time this term will be used)

When I receive further information relating to dates etc I will let you know.

I do hope this helps.

Thank you for this information, but do you mean there will be three microsites hosted by the FT containing the names of people that are at each stage?

Secondly, what do you mean by "Passed Finalists(last time this term will be used)" - you mean passed non-members will no longer be called passed finalists? What will they be called then and who says so?!

Finally a general point - if it's true that the FT won't be publishing the results this time, that's a shame, as I know my family etc. were looking forward to buying the FT and reading my name there. Slightly proud I know but they'll be disappointed.

Hi Rob,

It is not a definate answer but I am just trying to manage your expectations as if it was going to be published we would have had a date by now and after speaking to the department that liases directly with the FT they have also advised this.

The mircrosites will be hosted by CIMA and not the Financial Times.

Secondly the term "Passed Finalist is no longer being used" However as a current Passed Finalist you will still be able to refer to yourself as a Passed Finalist until the end of the year. This is to avoid confussion as lots of Passed Finalist were calling themselves "Members of CIMA" and this is also to encourage PF's to apply for membership quicker which is why the Test of Professional Competence  has been split into two parts.

I do hope that this helps and hopefully we will have good news and publish the names.

That's really disappointing. We worked yrs for this recognition. CIMA please fix and get it in the FT

FT

I agree, very dissapointing.  After working so hard, to have that recognition suddenly pulled from under us is really dissapointing.  Can CIMA not submit the information and ask the FT to publish it?  Why do the FT get to decide whether it happens or not?

FT

I asked the same question on another thread.

I will be very diassapointed too if we weren't listed in the FT.

FT

I would echo the sentiments above - having worked hard over the past 3 years to finally cross the finishing line I would be somewhat dissapointed if it was not recognised in the FT as has been the case for those before us.

Financial Times listing.

Hello everyone,

An update on the above.

I can confirm that the Financial Times listing is still going ahead.

The publication date is February 18th 2010, please check your Communication Preferences within your MYCIMA accounts to ensure that you have consented for your names to be released, as soon as possible.

thats great news! It wouldn't have reflected very well on CIMA if they had stopped doing this. Lots of family etc looking forward to reading names in the paper.

Re

Well done CIMA, would have been dissapointed if not published. It's a nice touch.

Well done CIMA thats good news.

Can someone confirm if this is applicable to both Sept & Nov 09 passed finalists or just Sept 09, with Nov 09 being published at a later date?

FT Listing

Hi Fowler,

The Passed Finalist listing in the Financial Times only ever happened twice a year.

The September and November PFs will be listed in the February 18th publication, providing that they have given their consent.

This is the last time this publication will be happening, as the term "Passed Finalist" is not applicable under the 2010 syllabus.

I hope this helps

Will people who sat TOPCIMA in September and have since been approved into membership be included in the list? If so what is the communication option we need to check in MYCIMA?

Thanks

Simon

FT Listing

Hi Simon,

I have spoken to a student about this today and he did not have the box in his profile, as his account had changed to an ACMA one.

If you can PM your Contact ID, then I can check your account for you and select this box if it hasnt been ticked.

Hi Beth,

I have also become an ACMA since passing TOPCIMA last September.

How can I confirm that I have ticked the relevant field on my profile?

Kind regards,

Hi Huw,

Please log-in to your MYCIMA account and select "My Communication preferences". If you do not have the "Consent when PF to FT" tick box available, then please private message me your Contact ID so I can check your account on our system.

Thank you

Beth

Dunno where it thought i read that then :/ Ta anyway, i'll make a note to make sure i pick one up on the 18th feb.

FT

Hi,

Read the bit about this being the last time that it will be in the FT due to the term passed finalist no longer existing.  What about when people get the ACMA status will that be posted in the FT a couple of times a year or is that it now?

FT Listing

Hi Natalie,

CIMA has never published a list of New Members in the FT, this may change in future but nothing has been confirmed.

Students who have completed their exams will be listed on a separate microsite which is in the process of being launched, but will not be listed in the FT in future.

FT - there's no tick in my "communications preferences" profile

Hi Beth,

I've just read through the above and looked at my CIMA profile, but there's no tick box for the FT. Can you advise how I personal message you (is there a specific email address or do  I use the general address and put it to your attention)?

Many thanks

FT Listing

Hi Russell,

If you click on my name (which is highlighted in pinky-red), you will be directed to my profile.

Once you can view my profile, please select "Contact", you will then be able to send me a message without everyone seeing it, which is the best thing to do when giving your Contact details on here. If you can please provide me with your contact ID and I will have a look at your account.

CIMA Contact is currently working through a large number of emails, so it would be best to contact me directly, as the deadline for consenting would be Monday.

I hope this helps
