Hi Everyone. 

 Can anyone give me advise on online courses.  I have been looking at Kaplan/LSBF/BPP.  Has anyone taken any of these online courses and how did you find them.  I am hoping to take two subjects and was hoping to go at my own speed but I have read you have to wait for the tutors to submit the course work each week?

Please if anyone could leave feedback on these online courses this would be helpful

Hiya,

I studied live online this term, but just one subject.  I really enjoyed it, it is just as good as a class lesson.  You can interact with everyone via chat and it was good fun too.

 It also saves you having to travel into college, but obviously you have to commit to doing quite a few evening classes.  If you cannot make it one day you can listen to the recording whenever you want to.

 I did this with Kaplan, some say the books arent brilliant but I have never studied with anyone else so cant really compare.

BPP Online Course

Hi

I did P1 online for the May sitting and I thought it was great.

They split the course down into stages and provided a timetable of when each stage will start - but all the content is there so you can run ahead or behind schedule depending on your workloads.

The tutor did send out advice on the upcoming stage just before it was timetabled to start - so if you work ahead you won't have this - but its not that important, just contains a couple of tips and tells you which bits are top prioity to learn.

I liked it because it was flexible, broke the course down into manageable pieces, and I didn't have to travel anywhere.

I've applied again to do P2 and F2 online again for Nov 2010.

I think BPP is cheaper than Kaplan - and BPP course covered some revision guidance too however BPP don't video a live lecture and put it online. They send their own set of course notes (briefer than the text book) and they have them on the screen with someone annotating and talking over them - sounds a bit lame but I really liked it.

First Intuition online

My company are sponsoring my online courses for the strategic papers so I did a review of what each of the study providers were offering compared to price and quality. In the end I chose First Intution as providing the most support and materials for the best price. 

I got my login this week, and having self studied for all my managerial papers, the site and the quality of the lectures look really good, and most of my concern about studying for three papers at once has gone. I'm really pleased I picked this study provider and I am impressed by thier customer service - however, the ultimate measure will be in my exam results for November exams.

Insaf Live online

I think Insaf live online is better than BPp, Kaplan and lsbf. I bought CIMA LSBF few chapters of CD ROMs from an online vendor. The lectures are well developed technology wise, however, just watching a lecture (like a movie) makes me sleepy :p I then switched to Insaf live online. It was wonderful. They offered one to one tuition where I could talk to the tutor in real time through internet. Tutors were excellent and pricing was so much cheaper compared to Bpp or kaplan. Personally I feel, any online course which lacks the two-way voice communication makes me sleepy :( Can't help.

Insaf online course is the most convenient, easiest, best & the cheapest choice. It has a feature that no other online course doesn't offer. That's the ability to have 1-2-1 lessons talking with the tutor online. So every lesson is customized and the assigned personal tutor is always there for assistance. Pricing is also very cheap. BPP is next to Insaf I think. Kaplan is next to BPP - because BPP tuition & materials are better than Kaplan in my view.

I have read your comment on Insaf online course and seem it is the best.  I would like to know whether the tutor will mark our scripts?  In addition, besides Insaf, is there any colleges provide this service?  I failed my managerial paper E2 & F2) in the past sitting.  I do not know what's wrong with my answers.  I believe that guidance from a experienced tutor will be very helpful.

Yes. Insaf tutors mark answer scripts and give feedback. We have to do questions, scan them & send. They'll mark and give us feedback. Insaf tuition is based on 1-2-1 model with live 2-way voice communication and a shared screen whitboard. Except Insaf college I don't think no-one offers such a personalized service at such a nice price :-)

How many hours did you take with Insaf per subject? I am preparing for a re-sit in March and wondering if there is enough time to start with Insaf? Thank you.

Apologies in very delayed reply. Just saw this email notification in my inbox. So as March is nearing the end. Hopefuly either you might have had lessons with Insaf college or from somewhere else. However, I had about 24-30 hours per subject with Insaf college. Most subjects I did the full course with them and as such I cant clearly state how many hours it may run for a resit course. Just drop them a message. They are friendly and would help you.
