Online Classrooms

Hi Everyone

I'm currently considering how to study towards E1 and P1 on the new syllabus.  I'm intrigued by these new online classrooms and wondered if anyone had any feedback on the practicalities of these.  i.e. did you pass and learn easily?

BPP's class of the future looks fun if the video is anything to go by (http://www.classofthefuture.co.uk/demo.html).  What does everyone else think?  Can you learn and pass using this or is it a gimmick?

The way this has been setup is very impressive but is it as good as a classroom course?

BPP online classroom

I've enrolled for the BPP online classroom for P1 because I don't think I'm disciplined enough to study P1 by my own. I'm in Australia so online classes are the next best thing to real classes.

Class would start next week. Will let you know how it goes  :)

online study

Hi Rob,

I've finally bought the online lectures from Acorn for P2 & F2. It's not a classroom training just an AV simulation. I quite like them. The lectures give you a gist and a read through the study materials help grasp better. I plan to top this up with a lot of exam practise (BPP). Lets hope it works!

Cheers,Aparna

Thanks

Thanks Aparna

I hadn't heard of Acorn before but i have been on and had a look and it is quite impressive.  It looks quite similar to to the class of the future.  I have spoken to a few friends at work who've been through CIMA and they reckon BPP have the best tutors so think i am going to give this class of the future thing a go.

Good luck with P2 and F2.

Acorn

Hi guys,

I used Acorn to study P7 & P5 last year. I only used it as supplementary material. I find that Acorn material is too 'simple'. The example questions are really easy, same as the mock exam paper. So I only refer to Acorn if I want additional info on certain topics.

It depends on the lecturer as well. The lecturer for P7 was reading word-by-word what was written on the lecture notes. But the lecturer for P5 was quite good. He gave plenty of examples and not just simply following the course notes.

My opinion is based on their 2005 syllabus materials, maybe the materials have improved with the new syllabus  :)

Cheers, Eva

Acorn Live

I have seen few demos of Acorn live. I feel it's ideal for self starters, however it doesn't go in to depth of the subject. Its gives basic principles so best to use as a supplement for studies. but i wonder, is there copy right issues for the clip? is it downloadable and free to share?not sure..please let me know

Acorn

Hi Aparna

Just trying to decide whether to with Acorn or CIMA for strategic level and wondered how you got on with Acorn, how did you find the course content did it give everything you need to prepare you for the exams? Thanks Sharon
