Kaplan

Hi all.

I just wnated to say how dissappointed I am with the Kaplan study texts.I like the company and have been loyal to them as i used to attend their venue in SE1 when it was accountancy tutors many years ago.I like the way that they present the information and have always preferred them to BPP.I also like the fact that when you buy the study texts you also get to view the material online although i understand thats only for a limited period.

Howerver, what i'm dissappointed in is the amount of arithmetical errors and misprints, certainly in the F2 study text.Do they have generic email address where you can advise them of their errors as i have a very long list? I've just started working on P2 but i've been told that there is 30% more info in the BPP version!!

I just wondered what anyone else thought?

Cheers

Rob

Ive always found kaplans textbooks to be excellent and i qualified using their materials so they worked for me. Im not excusing errors in the books and do believe that they should deal with them appropriatey.

However tens of thousands of people have managed to pass exams using textbooks with a lot of errors. The fact that you have identified them is good and shows that you have an eye for detail. In the workplace you will also have to deal with this. We could be given folder upon folder of information that has incomplete, inaccurate and useless information that we need to sift through to use in a meaningfull way. But i do sympathise it is difficult to learn when you come accross errors all the time. Good luck

for the: generic email address where you can advise them of their errors.

they need to update it, as the same errors come through again.  BPP had a fewerrors as well, which I notified them off.  Not sure if they have changed it though.
