Hi

I sat for P7 and P1 Nov 2009 Exams and unfortunately i couldn't get through it.And dropped out the following exam sessions and now i want to carry on finishing it

can anyone suggest me whether "the P7 and P1 Syllabus are the same as F1 and P1 and whether i can revise my old books and past papers for the May 2011 exams.

Thanks

New syllabus

Hi Mohamed,

I can confirm that F1 and P1 are the equivalent of P7 and P1, though there may be some slight variations. Please see this guide to find out more:

Good luck with your studies!

Warmest regards,

Significant Changes

They are equivalent but with significant changes:

P7 is now F1 and it now includes Consolidated Financial Statements. It's a fairly significant part of the course and will almost certainly have a 25mark question in the exam.

P1 is now P1 but much of the content in the old P1 and P2 were swapped around meaning P1 in the new syllabus includes new topics like investment appraisal and NPV.

Therefore you will definitely need new books and new practise questions. To save money you could see if anyone who sat the May exam is selling their books.
