CIMA & Masters

Hi,

As we all know that CIMA is equals to masters, so is there any uni who is offering masters to passed finalist in UK or in anyother country.

One more thing that if no uni is offering the masters then on the basis of passed finalist can anybody apply for masters education.

Excuse me, but...

I don't see anything to support that assertion.

Nowhere is just going to 'give' a masters to a passed finalist.

However, you might find this of interest: http://www1.cimaglobal.com/cps/rde/xchg/SID-0AE7C4D1-AD99676A/live/root.xsl/Degreeindex.htm

It describes how CIMA membership can be used for partial credit on certain masters courses.

"The CIMA professional qualification is equivalent to a master's degree, the independent UK agency responsible for government scoring of immigrants’ qualifications has said."

Thanks for the link re credit on masters courses.

Freakonomics here in CIMA?

This old chestnut.

That data from UK NARIC was compiled to compare levels of education of potential immigrants to the UK. It wasn't a rigorous assessment of relative academic, economic or professional value; the devil's in the detail, "equivalent" is such a useful word, isn't it? Apples are by definition equivalent to tomatoes but I wouldn't want them both in a fruit salad or in a pie with ice-cream.

A Master's is an altogether different learning experience from CIMA. Maybe equal, maybe not, depending on circumstance, context and subjective evaluation. Either one is good preparation for the other, but, as Graham says, you can't just swap them like for like.

CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting and QCF

Hello,

By this time we all knowcima is equal to masters.

Can any one let meknow CIMACertificate in Business Accounting is equal to which level of qualification in nation qualification and credit framework, uk?

 Thanks

CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting is equivalent to ...

QCF is "work in progress" and the actual qualification comparisons are  at http://www.accreditedqualifications.org.uk/index.aspx

But in 'accountancy' you won't find CIMA qualifications there, only a small range from ACCA and AAT.

If you're looking for equivalents regarding entry into the UK, the relevant body is NARIC http://www.naric.org.uk/index.asp?page=14

And I still contend there is no evidence that CIMA is "equal" to Master's except in the very narrow context of immigration to the UK.

CBA equivalence

Hi Farhad,

I can confirm that CIMA has not placed a level of equivalence to the Certificate in Business Accounting.

I do hope that this has answered your enquiry.

Equivalence

Hello Khalid,

The lower levels of the CIMA qualification have not been given any classification, only the completed qualification has.

I hope this helps
