Best on-line study solution?

Hi, I am back to studying from a 7 year hiatus and am planning on doing some home study as I think I have attention deficit disorder... and just day dream in classes :)

I like the idea of online study so was interested in studying F1 and F2 possibly using CIMAstudy.com

My question is, is this the best online study solution? Or are there some superior Online Study providors out there?

Your experiences and advice would be most welcomed!

Thanks, Jules

Online classes providers

Hi Jules.

Welcome back!  CIMAstudy.com is more like an online interactive textbook with videos and multi-media excercises.  You do self study at your own pace.  You can use the free trial online to get a feel.

There are many other providers such as Kaplan and BPP who do online live classes.  These classes are similar to the traditional classroom learning just that you are doing it in front of your computer at your own home/ office instead of going to the class physically.  Some providers provide recordings that you can access as many time as you like to refresh your memory.  EXP provides free voice over slides here which may give you a taste of this type of learning.

Many people have already recommend different online providers here but I think that it is really depends on your studying style.  I will suggest you to try  and see what suits you best.

Best regards,

Sam

Online Swizz

I have just paid a fortune for Kaplan online Live (one paper £630) and it seems you cannot print or access the class notes or study text in paper format.  It is all online.  This is completely impractical.  Who studied directly from a computer screen?!

It seems Kaplan have a lot to learn and seem to be maximising profits rather than creating a good learning experience.

Weekend study is not much more expensive and at least you get printed matter and direct support from tutors.

Unforunately, there is not enough competition for providers in the north of England and Kaplan and BPP are expensive and complacent.  I with iCount or someone similar would open an operation in Yorkshire!

INSAF is the best online solution

I was a student of INSAF live online. I will continue to use them for my Strats level hopefully for November exams (if my boy's plans didn't change ;P). As far as I've experienced, I have seen sample lessons of Kaplan live online as well as once downloaded a clip of LSBF video lectures from a website. Based on that experience, I'd fully recommend INSAF live online as the best online learning solution. Because they give one-to-one instruction which is not available with any other live online programme. I found the tutors highly knowledgeable and friendly. Also we can fix lectures at the time convenient for us. They also offer their ebooks and practice kits when I inquired them this time. Fees also very affordable - for a 40 hour 1-2-1 taught, revision & question practice course they charge £520 :)

Just for my planning purposes I searched around strats level tuition fees here and went clueless when saw BPP is charging £1000++. Price hike again :-/ :-/ Kaplan nearing £1000 and 1000+ with some additional options :( Do they assume I were a shareholder of Facebook or Google ????? I wish tuition providers should consider about the hard time PQs facing here, rather than using their "brand power" to increase the prices !!! I will stick with INSAF live :)
