2010 Publication in FT

Keywords: FT, Top Cima

I am just checking to see any further developments on the publication in FT of those who pass their Top Cima.

Looking at eariler discussions, it appeared that CIMA were relucatant to renew their partnership with FT.

I for one, having studied for this qualification, and certainly without doubt effort that has been put into it would want this glorified recognition in FT.

I would be grateful if CIMA could provide assurances that they will continue their partnership.

Furthermore, and if it to be the case.. Please can you confirm when are students names published for those successful in their March top cima?

I am sure, those ppl studying towards their CIMA qualification would want their names published!

Hi

FT - CIMA... do it!

Julia - this really isnt good enough.

Other boards do it.. why not CIMA? I am sure other students would want this publication to continue.

You directing me to another thread is an easy answer... I havent studied for so long and spent all this money without having this recognition in the FT.

 Not amused

FT Recognition

Isn't being able to call yourself Chartered Management Accountant a big enough reward after spending the time and money?   Not sure that being one of a long list of names in a paper is all that much of a big thing in reality!

Referring people to other threads and previous discussions

Hello Escobar,

It is common practice in well-managed online communities to refer people to other threads (and in fact to merge duplicate / similar threads - although we do not have the ability to do that in our forum software).

Often people will not use the site search, or other search facilities such as the keyword and category pages. When newcomers are asking the same questions and repeating discussions without being aware of what has been said before on the same topic, it makes sense to direct them to what has been said previously.

It is also useful for the larger readership, and a more sustainable way of making the most of the knowledge and discussions on communities as they grow and accumulate more content.

You are still free to discuss this futher of course and we were not closing the thread, but you should be aware that attacks on our moderators who are following best practice goes against the spirit of the community with regards to respect and tone of voice - please refer to the community guidelines to find out more about this.

FT in 2010

Sorry for a late response, but I havent been able to check this forum recently.

Hi Diedre,

The thread that was posted to another thread wasnt conclusive in terms of the answer, which is why i responded.

Agreed, the ACMA recognition is sufficient as another poster pointed out, but I still dont think its fair not to receive some sort of notification in the FT or another respectable paper.

This issue was brought up in the last sitting, and many students vented their frustations as to why it shouldnt be included - and CIMA duly posted passed names in the FT.

I feel I should be able to vent my frustrations and points without CIMA stating that my tone should be lowered - I am just stating its unfair thats all, am not having a dig at your colleague.

I hope you can perhaps, explain why we should be deprived.

Thank you,

FT Listing

Hi Escobar,

The recent FT listing going ahead had nothing to do with the comments on CIMA Sphere, this was in discussions long before then.

As I have stated in response on other threads, we may be listing New Members in the Financial Times, however this has not been confirmed.

As the CIMA syllabus has been changed, there are no Passed Finalists any longer, this is the reason why the listing for these students has now ceased.

I hope this clarifies matters for you.
