Need help with filling in your CIMAsphere profile?

Just discovered CIMAsphere or returning to check out what's happening? Take advantage of the options for filling out your profile and let others know more about you!

Sounds fine in theory, you might say, but what's in it for me? Here are five reasons why filling out your profile will reap rewards...

Profile details - Top 5 Benefits

(1) As the community grows larger, better profile information like your location, your interests or your photo allows others to distinguish people with the same name.

(2) Better topical discussions and reputation building: if people know your areas of interest or expertise you're more likely to get invited to relevant topic-based groups, or be recommended by others, and hence get more benefits from the conversations.

(3) Careers benefits: increase your visibility and demonstrate capabilities to potential (plus current) employers, colleagues and clients.

(4) Local networking: if people know your town / city / country you'll get invited to location-based groups on CIMAsphere. It will also be easier for members and students across the world to connect with each other locally.

(5) Adding your photo helps people recognise you at local events and study groups, or maybe they will recognise you from college or work. It's a proven fact that we remember faces better than names!

Basically it adds a human touch and increases the value of the whole experience.

To fill out your profile:

• click 'Update your profile' in the Your CIMAsphere account box in the top right hand of every page

• This takes you to My Profile > Edit My Profile where you can upload a photo, select professional interests, share your location and say a bit more about yourself. You can also control your privacy settings.

• Need more help? Visit the Managing your profile section on the Help page. One key tip is that the photo you upload should be between 100x100 and 600x600 pixels (maximum size 500KB).

My profile is stuck at female, which is annoying as I'm a bloke. Anyone know how to change this?
