Hi,
Wondering if anyone can explain how they came up with an average investment of $4m in question 1c of the Nov 2010 solution.
Initial Capital Investment = $5m
End of Product Life Capital Equipment = $3m
New product has an expected life of one year before it is replaced by advanced product.

Hi All!
Just back from the F1 exam, how does everyone feel about that...I'm feeling good about this one, the only question I struggled with was FOUR ways to offset trading losses, all the others seemed to be straight forward!
Thanks
Mike
The whole story of participating in the CIMA GBC started from a winter evening, when officers of CIMA HK went to our school, the University of Hong Kong, for promotion in January. At that time the four of us were no more than just starters into college life; neither did we possess business knowledge to any level one could regard as “adequate”. Indeed, having two Science students in the team, the skill set of our group was quite diversified, making us less likely a perfect candidate for a business competition.
Hi all, I was wondering if anyone gone through the Section A of May exam? What are you answers?
the paper can be found below:

We're looking to feature more CIMA students in the Blogs section of our online community - could you be one of them..?
If you think you've got what it takes to be a blogger on CIMAsphere, and to engage with a global community of students, members and the broader business audience, then show us what you've got!
Does anyone know what time the March 2nd 2010 Top Cima exam on PC is held, ie AM or PM?
Thanks
Mark
Does anybody know where I can get hold of a copy of the March/May 2010 TOPCIMA case study?
I have been advised that this is available now but can't seem to locate it.
Many thanks.
I'm wondering if anybody knows what will happen if you fail one of the strategic exams in Nov 09 sitting given that the syllabus is changing? Do we get another chance to re-sit this syllabus or will it mean 'starting afresh'? And if so, just the failed subject(s) or all 3?
P9 is virtually a foregone conclusion for me!!!!
Thanks
I have seen the new CIMA 2010 syllabus and it looks impressive with new impressive terms. I am happy that CIMA conducts employers for development of new syllabus each time, I however wish that CIMA should provide a subject by subject comparison with the current 2005 syllabus to see changes especially improvements. I further wish that comparison with latest syllabi of rival bodies e.g. ACCA should be made so that in that context we may appreciate the new syllabus.
As an inactive student (I reluctantly resigned my student membership as I'm unable to work or study due to serious illness), I'm somewhat concerned about the implications of the new syllabus for students in my position.
In the 2010 brochure, the transition arrangements section implies that only students registered in January 2010 will be eligible for credit in the new syllabus for papers they have successfully completed in a previous syllabus (I started studying in 1997 and passed my last exams in 2002). Quoting from the brochure:
Does anyone know if/when there will be study books available for the new syllabus?
Will there be an updated reading list, based on the new syllabus?
Cheers,
James
