    Hello

Looking to either find a study group or establish a study group in Brisbane Australia.

Not interested in what levels people are at or studying for as my general belief is that we can all help each other and even someone studying operational level can help someone somehow with prepartion for strategic exams or beyond.

Also looking to make it a little bit social as we could all use a break from the rigours of the CIMA syllabus and exam preparation.

    Ideas and comments appreciated.

    Cheers

    Sam

    Hi,

I've just finished and have been awarded my Certificate in Business Accounting and was wondering if anyone in Sydney, Australia wanted to meet up to start studying for the Operational Level Exams in November. I know it's heaps early, but I'm planning to start studying soon and it'd be great to bounce ideas/questions off others who are in the same city.

    Hi,

I am a qualified Irish chartered accountant (CAI) working as a financial / management accountant for a mechanical and industrial services company in Perth, Australia. I am interested in possibly doing the CIMA qualification over the next year or more and was wondering could you provide me with further information.

    Hi

I’d be interested to hear about any qualified members who have recently emigrated to Australia from the UK.  In particular, their experiences of the whole migration process, what visa they eventually emigrated on, and how they proved their work experience.

If we attend any exam in Brisbane, Australia, Do we need to pay any local fee in addition to exam fee? Normally how much will it cost? Recently I came Brisbane. they mention about this fee in my exam advice.

As someone working for a UK based company with operating units in Asia I was wondering if anyone knew if CIMA has a presence in Thailand and Indonesia (and possibly Australia)?

I am keen to develop the capability of our management accountants in these areas as well as attract and recruit quality accountants going forwards.  I would like to understand what is available to these countries in order to potentially support our staff in acquiring an internationally recognised qualification in finance.

    Hi,

I'm currently working my way through the operation level of the CIMA exams.

As I am located in Perth Australia I am isolated and don't have access to lectures or tutorials which means I only have the text and CIMA's online courses to rely on. This makes things hard when I don't quite understand the way an answer derived or when steps are missed in a worked example.

Hello fellow CIMA students.  I'm going to graduate with a degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A) soon and would like to apply for exemption for the Certificate level.  However,  i'm willing to get my PER (Personal Work Experience) after I finish the Managerial level, outside my country of current residence.

In other words, I'm willing to try to seek employment outside of country of residence to show that as my PER when I apply to become an ACMA.  My questions are :

    Hello,

I have recently been lucky enough to get sponsorship here in Australia and I am looking to sit a couple of my CIMA  exams whilst out here.

Is there anywhere, anyone could recommend which hold courses? I am looking to sit papers E2 & P2.

    Regards,

In part one I covered some of the highlights of the first 7 months of my presidency. I also delved into the theme of relevancy that I have championed during my tenure. This flows from the understanding that the finance professional needs to be relevant to his or her organisation – not just in a historical sense but in terms of perpetually looking forward. This is the unique differentiator of the CIMA qualification and the value proposition offered by CIMA members.

    Hi All,

I just wanted to speak to people who have made the jump to Australia, generally how they have found it, from starting the move, to finding a job, settling down, and integrating with the locals. I am seriously thinking about it but would really like to hear peoples thoughts and experiences. Any resource links would be very useful too, whether its recommended migration agents, recruitment agents etc.

    Hi,

Is anyone else sitting Top CIMA in May in Australia. If so how are you planning to prepare for it. There are no taught causes in the country, none of the colleges in the UK (BPP, Kaplan) offer a distance learning course for Top CIMA.

From what I find the only option is to purchase the Top CIMA book directly from CIMA (through elsevier in Australia) and use that to revise, however this will not offer the chance to sit practice exams and have them marked.

    Dear All,

Please can you advise on the current state of the Australian finance/management job market.

I am currently studying for the Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting, and have an MA degree along with Business Analyst experience.

What is the best strategy in landing a job in Australia, ideally Melbourne? i) Holiday visa and visit recruitment agencies when in the country? ii) Apply to Australian companies direct from the UK?

Would any of the CIMA network consider sponsoring me should a suitable opportunity arise?
