I lost a job working in an industry based role where I was studying for CIMA.  I then put CIMA on hold while looking for another job.  I found a new position working for a small practice and am now considering my options for further study.  I have 5 papers left to study in CIMA until I have passed the exam element.  Work is fairly keen for me to do further study and I wondered whether its worth while continuing with CIMA or alternatively starting again in something like ACA.  Also does CIMA recognise work experience gained in Practice?  Any valuable feedback is welcome as I am hav

If I told you that you could improve your exam results in under five minutes, would you believe me?

With only four weeks to go until the exams, time is very short - so I've got three quick ways to help you succeed this May. If you've got two minutes to spare, you can put one of these into action right now!

    Hi,

I would be interested to hear some opinions on this.

I have a 2:1 in Management Accounting, I've passed all the Certificate exams and am taking the Operational papers in May. Unfortunately, I'm doing this all by myself without any study support other than the second hand books I can find out there as paying for the tuition is beyond my means.

    Hello,

I was hoping someone could clarify the following for me.

I have got the BPP E2 textbook, I bought this when sitting the exam in November 2010. I am now attempting the paper again this May, I just wanted to confirm is the textbook still ok to refer to for May 2012.

    Please advise. Thank you

Hi.  Can anyone tell me the best way to go about studying?

I'm taking two exams in May 2012 and have tried but just can't get into a good way or routine of studying.  Does anyone have any advice they can give to help me out?

    Hi,

I have been lucky enough to gain a place on a graduate scheme beginning in September in a finance role. Having read History at university I am apprehensive with regards studying for the CIMA qualification whilst working in a full time role. Initially I will complete my certificate and will have no exemptions. Every person is different, but how much time is needed to revise each module as an estimate? I will receive training from BPP, however I do not know how much study leave I will have.

    Dear Members,

CIMA has been a hugely successful brand. So successful that without any statutory recogntion it could take on the might of the chartered accountancy brand even in those days!. It has been a 'pull' product for those working in business. So, after creating such a strong and sustainable brand over the last 90 years, what is the idea behind creating this CGMA brand?

I've a few questions for our members:

I’m a fan of Sheryl Sandberg – the COO of Facebook and much of the reason that, coming into its IPO, the company is valued at up to $100 billion.

Let’s face it, Mark Zuckerberg might have had a great idea – but he didn’t know how to turn it into a great company. Sandberg did and that’s exactly what she accomplished. She took the concept and turned it into a juggernaut.

A lot of how she did so was by looking for, at and to women – within the company and in its partnerships with advertisers and other revenue-generating relationships.

    Hi Guys,

I am currently applying for graduate schemes which will support me in the attainment of the certificate in financial accounting, with my longer term aim being to achieve chartered management accountant status. I have reached the final interview stage at a company and have conducted my own research regarding the qualifications but would really appreciate some first hand experience of what is involve.

    Hi

Unfortunately I have resits to take. I know that the cost to CIMA is £133(!!!). Is this inclusive of VAT?

Personally I don't know how they can charge this amount. £54 more than a first take. I thought the examiners only get about £5 a script.

    Hi,

Does anyone knows if CIMA publishing will be publishing a new official text for T4 for the May 2012 diet?

Results day is almost here - in a few short hours you'll be hearing how you got on in the November sitting. Seems a long time ago, doesn't it?

No matter what your result is, it’s now 2012 and time to focus on the future!

At the end of this month, the AICPA and CIMA, two of the world’s largest accounting bodies, will launch a joint venture to elevate the profession of management accounting by establishing a new global credential, the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Charles Tilley, chief executive of CIMA, and Barry Melancon, president and CEO of the AICPA, will be answering members' question about the new credential in the March edition of FM.

    Hi all,

I am currently an accountant in Singapore. I graduated in a local university in Singapore (B. Accountancy) and is pursuing my CPA Singapore as well.

Since joining a commercial firm (after auditing for 2 years), i've been thinking of signing up for CIMA.

I am just wondering whether CIMA will be useful in Singapore and maybe southeast asia?

     Thanks for the help!

Dear Strategy Veterans and those who are studying to pass this level!

Now, I have finished sitting EM and EO paper this time and geared to sit for the next level. Still fingers-crossed on the outcome of the subjects I have sat but I strongly belive I am scrapping through; hence my decision to commence classes and invest my time and money for the next level.
