    Hi,

I would be interested to hear some opinions on this.

I have a 2:1 in Management Accounting, I've passed all the Certificate exams and am taking the Operational papers in May. Unfortunately, I'm doing this all by myself without any study support other than the second hand books I can find out there as paying for the tuition is beyond my means.

    Hello.

I recently finished my B.Com Accounting at the University of Johannesburg. I am curently working towards the CIMA qualification.

I have recieved exemptions from C01 - C05 as well as F1 and will write the other two operational exams in May.

I am looking for work to gain the relevent experience and was wondering if any one had any advice or if you could point me in the right direction. All the CIMA jobs listed online require experience.

    Hi everyone,

I've just stated my PER online and am a bit perplexed on the Career Profile part.  I've had 10 different roles since leaving university and am using 4 of these to cover the 36 months practical experience.  Do I need to give a detailed account of all 10 roles, or just the 4 that relate to my experience required?

I reckon I'm best to give a summary on the 6 roles not being used as practical experience and concentrate my efforts on the 4 relevant roles.

    Any advice welcomed.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

    I am trying to submit my Practical Application but keep getting the following message in the Proposer and Sceonder section;

"Please enter at least one proposer and one seconder who between them can verify at least 36 months of your relevant practical experience. The 36 months verified should include at least 18 months of your 'core' experience."

I have added two people for each of my roles that covers 36 months so I am not sure why I am not meeting the aboive requirement.

    Hi all

I am wondering if anyone has any views on areas outside of the finance functions which would be beneficial to a CIMA strategic level studier for the future.

My employer has asked if I would like to do some shadowing in other areas of the business as part of my professional development so I would really like to use the opportunity. The main thing that springs to mind in to gain more understanding of how commercial contracts are pulled together.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks

    Nicola

Having been with my current employer for more than five years I've been out of the job search loop for quite a while.  Now I'm looking for a change and the opportunity to progress within a new company I'm finding the whole process a bit daunting...

It would be really useful to get any info on how best to navigate the job market in the 'current climate'.  As most roles are through agencies I'm particularly interested in any info people have on how to deal with the agencies once applications have been submitted.

When recording the experience I was wondering if i need to split the months basic and core experience if I have gained them congruently in my current role? If anyone has experienced the samet hing how did you split the months? Was it based on the tasked performed for example?

    Any suggestions welcome!

    Hi,

I passed T4 part B this month and I just wanted some advice on wether I should submit my career profile now or once I get more experience elsewhere.

I'm having problems filling in the Proposer and Seconder section of my online PER application.  When I click on the box to select the part of my career profile that each proposer/seconder will verify, the form just seems to hang and won't let me select a career profile entry.  Since the selection of a career profile entry is neccessary to complete this part of the form this is stopping me from being able to complete my application.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so how was it resolved?

Can anyone tell me if they have used examstudystar.co.uk, in particular their Practical Experience - Cima PE Sign Off Service.

I am wondering if it is worth paying for ...real comments from experience of using this company would be useful rather than from people who work for/are marketing them

    thanksfor your help

I'm a university student. I have planned to start part time CIMA lecturing for the fundation level with a partner who is also doing CIMA with me.

I'm planning to incorporate this as a partnership.

I want to know whether I can include this for the practical experience rquirement for obtaining ACMA.

Please help me in solving this problem.

Be kind to give your free thoughts.

I started life as an accountant, went into supply chain and general management for many years and only returned to accounting when I was made redundant two years ago. I used the "free" time I had to study for the CIMA exams and just did the strats last week. I was looking at the PER and am wondering if I can use the experience I gained 15-20 years ago as my relevant experience, assuming I can track down my managers from that time?. Would hate to have to start from scratch at my age!

    appreciate any comments,

With the change in the CIMA syllabus it is now not possible to submit your experience log until after you have passed all Strategic Papers.

I have found myself in a situation where I desperately want to change jobs but have not had my experience log signed off and I have been with my current employer for over 5 years.  Even if I get the log signed off, CIMA have told me that I can't submit it without having passed the Strategic papers.

    Hi

I submitted my practical exeperience record online on the 23rd February and i'm still waiting for a decision.  It was verified by my proposer and seconder almost immediately.

It has been over 6 weeks now, does anyone know what the current turn around time is.  Is it typical to wait over 6 weeks ?

    thanks

    Tom

    Hi all,
I'm currently studying the CIMA Certificate and so far I've been unsuccessful in gaining a finance related job. I have B's and C's for my GCSE's and a National Diploma in Business. The only experience I've had in accounting is the 2 units I covered in my college course. I just wanted to ask what kind of job positions should I be applying for which will be relevant to my studies?
Also 99% of employers want previous experience however I obviously cant get experience without a job. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can sort out this dilemma?

    HI,

I was asked at work the other day how many years PQE I have but i didn't know if it started from when I passed Top Cima or when I got my letters.

Can anyone let me know please.

    Thanks.
