    Hello All,

At my company we have recently decided on an appropriate treatment for a certain type of transaction and this treatment has been approved by our auditors, Ernst & Young (EY).  It involves accounting for a charge as an intangible asset built-up over the lead-in period of a contract and then amortised over the contract term.

I shall shortly make a move to a retail environment while remaining in finance.

It's a small team so the contribution is going to be very useful.

Are there any texbooks that members could recommended to help me build my knowledge on this type of business?  I've had a look at Elsevier, & Amazon, the following caught my attention:

     - Retail Strategy - Dr Jonathan Reynolds

     - International Retail Marketing - Margaret Bruce

     - Principles of Retailing - John Fernie

I passed TopCIMA in September 2009 and believe my name will be printed in the Financial Times at some point. There used to be a separate bit of the CIMA website that was for passed finalists and it gave the names of passed finalists and I think details of when it would be published. However, I cant seem to find it now the website has changed. Does anyone know if it still exists and if so, how to get to it?

    Thanks.

A Bond increases from £3,500 to £4,000 over 3 years.

    1. I understand how to get the 3 year ratio.... £4,000 / £3,500 = 1.142857. Now it gets tricky, what if they want the 1 year ratio or 2 year ratio, then what,

Also how do I obtain the annual ratio and the Effective annual rate. Please explain SLOOOWWWWLLLY as I need to understand this step by Step. If there is anyone out there..... Please help. I did not fund the CIMA study guide very helpful with this.
