Finding jobs in Australia

    Hi,

I have been a CIMA member for almost three years, with over six years of work experience.

I just migrated to Australia (Sydney), and find it quite hard to secure a job, let alone an interview with the agents, even with my credentials as a Management  Accountant and extensive SAP experience.

CIMA claims to be a  global qualification, equivalent to a degree. But the qualification or the relevant experience that is a criteria for the membership doesn't  seem to have counted for much so far, where the agents/organizations require 'local' experience.

    Hi All,

I just wanted to speak to people who have made the jump to Australia, generally how they have found it, from starting the move, to finding a job, settling down, and integrating with the locals. I am seriously thinking about it but would really like to hear peoples thoughts and experiences. Any resource links would be very useful too, whether its recommended migration agents, recruitment agents etc.

I am an associate of the CIMA. After migrating to australia two years back, I did few contract accounting jobs till my last contract had finished few months back.

Since then finding my next job has become a nightmare for me. This is because of the competition in the job market due to lack of jobs as a result of the global recession.
