Exam week is looming on the horizon and your friends are out enjoying themselves while you're stuck at home revising. Finding it tough?

"I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.' " - Muhammad Ali

Make sure you get plenty of training in before the big day. No excuses!

Do yourself the best Christmas present and become your own friend! Sounds crazy? Well... if you only think for a while and actually listen to your inner voice... you will be surprised! We all have this inner dialog in our head. Like a safety barrier which helps us judge our decisions and actions. Unfortunately, most of us have it tuned too harsh and so we see ourselves as a failure. We are a prosecutor, a judge and an executioner in the same time… and we have no mercy! Very often we see a disaster and we tend to underestimate ourselves… we simply do not believe in our possibilities.

    Hello

Is anybody else struggling to get back in to the swing of revision for the September Resits? I sat Strategic level for the first time in May 2011 and passed P3 and literally just missed the other two papers.

In Silicon Valley there is a wonderful question – spoken and unspoken – that is part of every conversation. It’s WIIFM - What’s In It For Me? – and it is a key question for anyone who wants to succeed in anything they do.

Interestingly, while WIIFM sounds like a particularly selfish way of going about doing business, it isn’t. When you’re talking about becoming best of breed, the thing you always need to be looking at is WIIFM. Because the more you do, the more you bring to your organization.

The more you achieve and excel.

The other day I was chatting to a mate of mine who works as a ship doctor on a mega luxury cruise liner. He pointed out many interesting observations from his unusual work environ, one of which peaked my interest.

Not surprisingly these cruises are frequented by the fabulously wealthy retirees and captains of industry, neither of which are much fodder for my keyboard, but he pointed out a category which I wouldn’t have thought of; people who were loaded, not from a large capital base , but rather who received their monthly fix from family trust accounts.

Really struggling to get my backside into gear this semester. Have had first time passes so far but feel the wind's been knocked out of my sails.

I think it's a culimination of a few factors such as starting a new job, moving house and the death of a family member last month. Whatever it is, Im really struggling to get MOTIVATED!!!
