Hi,
I am new to CIMA family and I am looking for contacting other students in Dublin area, especially studying at Certificate level. My plan is to complete the Certificate in next 4-6 months and be able to sign in for Operational exams in November 2012. I am interested in buying the latest C1-C5 second-hand books and exam kits. Also, I am will be delighted preparing to CBA exams, together with other CIMA students by giving each other some motivation ans study support.
Today, the challenge for leaders at every level is no longer just to stay ahead of competition but to out-think the competition , to develop a unique views and ideas about the future and help your organization get there before anyone else does.
Which is why a defining challenge of leadership is whether you can answer a question that is as simple as it is powerful: Are you learning as fast as the world is changing? (HBR. ORG)

Hi
I have been trying for the past 4 years to get into mining without success. I have an honous degree in accounting and am busy with Cima. Can anyone please tell me how different is accounting in mining different from any other sector except the obvious? All adverts for accounting jobs in mining state that the candidate must have 2 - 3 years mining experience or they will not be considered. Where can one learn and gain exposure to accounting in mining outside a mine? By the way I have more than 10 years working experience.
Hello
Looking to either find a study group or establish a study group in Brisbane Australia.
Not interested in what levels people are at or studying for as my general belief is that we can all help each other and even someone studying operational level can help someone somehow with prepartion for strategic exams or beyond.
Also looking to make it a little bit social as we could all use a break from the rigours of the CIMA syllabus and exam preparation.
Ideas and comments appreciated.
Cheers
Sam

With the benefit of hindsight – looking back to when CIMAsphere launched in July 2009 – it’s clear that predicting the success of a group on an online community like this is more of an art than a science. Some common group building blocks are reliable predictors though. One such building block centres on the etiquette of being a good host.
Welcome to our new regular item on CIMAsphere where we celebrate those group leaders who have played an active part in making CIMAsphere a vibrant, active community. There are over 50 groups on CIMAsphere - many of them student and member-run - and some are really buzzing.

Hello everyone,
I have been a member since 2000 and in 2003 moved into education. I am now an assistant headteacher at Watford Grammar School for Boys. The school has recently become an Academy and we are therefore looking at ways of maximising the revenue we can make from school facilities and lettings. I would be very interested in re-connecting with members in the London / Watford area (I live in Pinner) to discuss areas of mutual interest. Can someone please help / point me in the right direction re contacts?
Many thanks for your help.
Hi.
I am hoping to set up a Focus Group for fellow MIPs in the Central London area where we can meet and discuss common problems/issues in an informal environment. I work as an MIP part-time around my current day job as a Project Accountant for a large charity so would envisage meeting in the evenings after work. Depending on level of interest, this could provide a good opportunity for mutual learning.
Hi everyone. If you live or work in South Wales or the South West of England (Swindon to Penzance - or, of course, Penzance to Swindon) then do please come along to our first-ever Regional Planning Day on Saturday 5 February at Thornbury, Bristol, and share your views and ideas on how CIMA can help your work and study in 2011.
At the recent Regional Board Meeting for the East Midlands & East Anglia Region, we discussed the possibility of having a Student Conference type of event in 2011. We were unable to hold one in 2010 and we are unsure whether this is something that Students actually want. I am trying to find out the answer…..Would Students like a Conference in 2011?
