As results day approaches, you may be thinking about how you will study for your next exam.

Hi, I am back to studying from a 7 year hiatus and am planning on doing some home study as I think I have attention deficit disorder... and just day dream in classes :)

 I like the idea of online study so was interested in studying F1 and F2 possibly using CIMAstudy.com

 My question is, is this the best online study solution? Or are there some superior Online Study providors out there? 

Your experiences and advice would be most welcomed!

I've recently submitted my practical experience online. Last week it was approved by my proposer and seconder. Any ideas how long I will have to wait for a decision? I'm very impatient! It shows as being assessed when I look at the online status - but I guess it could stay like this for months?

Also, how will CIMA advise you of the outcome, by post or email?

If anyone has submitted online already, please can you advise how long it all took?

I spoke to three friends who have completed their CIMA's and all three recommended different companies.

I've just finished the Managerial Stage after finally passing F2, I usally do home study to sit the exams which has got me through to this stage and have decided to do the BPP Online Classroom courses for the Strategic level.

Would anyone happen to know what the passrates are for people using this method as opposed to pure home study and/or attending a classroom course?

Maybe this is just a schoolboy error on my part, but when I go into the PER online submission, I have to put an end-date on the career profile, as the screen wont let you continue otherwise

So....what do you do for your current role? I dont have an end-date to my current job...

Has anyone tried any of the online study methods such as www.cimastudy.com or the equivalent BPP online portal? I am about to take Strategy papers for the first time, any experience of these or any others would be welcomed.

Has anyone used the BPP Online Classroom for the Managerial papers.

I'm going to be using it for P2 intially and after discussing it with BPP they say the it includes both the tuition and revision phases (i.e. don't need to go on a separate revision course) of the college classroom course.

This seems to good to be true especially at such a low cost! I'm happy if it does and it works so I just wondered if anyone else has used for the last sitting?

I'm considering purchasing the CIMA online distance learning study courses for my Operational-level exams, which I intend to sit in 2011. I taught myself the material for Certificate papers using only the CIMA study books + revision cards & passed all CBAs first-time, averaging 80%. However, I am concerned that books alone will not be sufficient for the Professional stage.

I'm trying to complete my PER online and have put as much experience as will fit in the first box for my current job and have used the second box.  I am now getting the following error message:

Many of us use excel in our daily life either as a student or in our workplace.

The practical questions which are asked in Financial and Performance papers are much standardized. They are either in a tabular format or in a column format which is in reality how we face as management accountants. 

If CIMA can arrange to conduct these examinations on a PC using MS Excel isn’t it going to benefit both the students as well as the institute?

I'm having problems filling in the Proposer and Seconder section of my online PER application.  When I click on the box to select the part of my career profile that each proposer/seconder will verify, the form just seems to hang and won't let me select a career profile entry.  Since the selection of a career profile entry is neccessary to complete this part of the form this is stopping me from being able to complete my application.

Has anyone else had this issue and if so how was it resolved?

That time of year again where I spend days deciding which online tuition provider to use.

Have used so far, and in order:

CimaStudy (awful, never again)
7City (excellent, but no longer cover CIMA)
Acorn (good, low cost)

I don't want to use BPP or Kaplan as they are too expensive.

Does anyone have any experience of First Intuition online courses - their prices seem quite reasonable.

I am AAT qualified to Technician level.  Now I decided I want to go back studying after 5 years. Hopefully CIMA gives me the exemptions and I am going to be sitting the E1 and F1 in May 2010. 
 
I was working as an accounts payable assistant  in the UK but I took voluntary redundancy 1 year ago to travel and peruse different carrier (temporarily teaching English).  I'm from Hungary and going to opt for the online option offered by BPP. 

I passed TopCIMA in September 2009 and believe my name will be printed in the Financial Times at some point. There used to be a separate bit of the CIMA website that was for passed finalists and it gave the names of passed finalists and I think details of when it would be published. However, I cant seem to find it now the website has changed. Does anyone know if it still exists and if so, how to get to it?

I'm currently considering how to study towards E1 and P1 on the new syllabus.  I'm intrigued by these new online classrooms and wondered if anyone had any feedback on the practicalities of these.  i.e. did you pass and learn easily?

BPP's class of the future looks fun if the video is anything to go by (http://www.classofthefuture.co.uk/demo.html).  What does everyone else think?  Can you learn and pass using this or is it a gimmick?

 The way this has been setup is very impressive but is it as good as a classroom course?

Has anyone had any experience of these new "online study" courses?

 I've started distance learning the new 3 strategic papers for May and think i will definitely need abit more help than just reading the books!

The provider i was considering was LSBF - are they any good generally? Good value for money? How many hours tuition do you get? Do you need a good internet connection?

 Any insider info would be much appreciated!
