Hello everyone,

I am from Serbia and currently studying CIMA. So far I have passed 4 exams on professional level, and in May 2010 I was sitting 2 more exams, so on summer I expect to have Advanced Diploma.

Currentlly I am working as Financial Controller in affiliate of big multinational company in Serbia. I have been working for this company for 8 years, and I passed through several financial positions, from financial accountant, management accountant, IS implementation till position that I held now.

Can anyone tell me when a Patent should be recognised as an Intangible, and what should be included as the 'cost' i.e. do professional fees expended in the application process count?

Am I correct in thinking that Trademarks obtained on logos and titles of products are not allowable as assets and should be treated as expenses?

I've done a lot of reading on this subject but can't find that specific answer I need, so I would be grateful for any guidance.
