Hi all,

Just waiting for my results for managerial level but am keen to get going with my strats.

I dont think i will sit them November due to home pressures but maybe May next year, is it Ok to buy any of the books now that will still be valid in May, i would think E3/P3 might be the same but F3 I could leave until later due to IFRS changes.

Any help would be great.

Exam Structure

Hi Everyone!

I've got my first ever CIMA exam (C01) in just four days and I'm trying to prepare myself for what to expect when I sit in the chair for my CBA. I've watched all the exam introduction videos but have one quesion...

I know the questions are randomly generated, but as you work through the questions are they in a specific order, i.e. 5 questions on 'The context of management accounting' followed by 12 questions on 'Cost Identification and Behaviour' and so on...?

A dangerous strategy: Ignoring the ethical dimension

With the May exams looming, are you clear on how to apply an ethical framework to the questions posed? Ethical issues are threaded throughout all stages of CIMA exams (below) and you will need to be able to show you would analyse the situation appropriately and respond.

Being guided through the CIMA code of ethics is key and there are a number of resources available to help you think through how to do the right thing.

P3- Do you need an exam strategy?

Hi All,

P3 post exam guide has just been uploaded for Nov 2012 and it does not make for pretty reading!!

If you are re-sitting next week, then it is a vital read for the weekend.

I will just pick up on some of the most important points the examiner made

-Financial risk is 35% of the syllabus and it is likely this could be examined in more than 1 question so do not leave out areas of the syllabus.

Closest Exam Centre to Derbyshire Area

Hi,

I am in the process of booking my exams and I have noticed that Warrington is no longer on the list.

Are they no longer holding exams at Warrington?

Does anybody know the closest exam centre in the Derbyshire area?

I know there is a Manchester exam centre however it is really awkward to get to whereas the Warrington centre was only a 5 mins walk from the train station.

Strategic Level Post Exam Guides - Nov 2012

The E3 Post Exam Guide for November 2012 has now been made available.

The F3 Post Exam Guide is still showing as 'available in February 2013.

However, the P3 Post Exam Guide is showing as 'available end of February 2013.

I recall that the P3 answers for November 2012 were quite late in being published, but why is there such a delay in the publication of the Post Exam Guides for the same sitting?

Management Level - what exams to take together

I've just completed operational level and would like suggestions on which management level exams to group together.

I took E1 & F1 in May 2012 and scored in 50's on both, scored 73% on P1 in November.

March and September 'extra' exam sittings

If you are register & pay for exams in either May or November, but are unable to write on the day (due to illness etc.), what are the exact procedures you must take to qualify wor the March and September resit/extra exams?

I have checked ou this link on the MY CIMA website, but find it to be very vague regarding this matter:

With P3 resit papers around the corner how comfortable are you with your ethical performance. Are you going for gold or are you likely to be in the dark side of the grey zone, feeling shame alongside those from recent corporate scandals for not acting in the public interest.
